Ok, so I have had many people fussing at me to write in my journal again. I apologize that I haven't been around, but I have been busy and just didn't have anything much to say. I just felt that everything I was writing was depressing and I got tired of being a downer to myself and everyone else. But, here I am again, and I'm fairly back to "normal" (whatever that may be, lol).
Let's see...what's been going on....
1. Jared has been playing baseball this year and improving every week. He started out not so good but is now able to hit the ball most times. If you would like to see him in action, check out the video snipets I filmed yesterday. He hits the home base quite a few times, but that's his routine!
2. The other day I heard the snipping of scissors coming from the other room. I told Jared to go investigate and I heard him say OHHHH NOOOOO....GO SHOW MOMMY! Yeahhhhh....that's never good. Klara walked in and she had cut a big hunk of hair from her bangs and from the left side of her head. Let me show you:
So...what could we do with THAT? We took her to the beauty salon and they gave her a nice summer do:
So, I was pretty upset about all of this and cried a bit, but I am over it now and everyone seems to like it pretty well. It'll grow back. I decided to take the plunge and get Will's first haircut that same day and get it over with too:
Before
After
Yeah I cried a bit over that one too....he looks like a little boy now and not a sweet baby. Oh well....I got over it, ha.
3. I've been busy working with my container garden. I planted an entire garden in laundry baskets. It's quite a sight to behold. I have 15 baskets full of pole beans, 27 tomato plants, a basket of carrots, kale, spinach, lettuce, four baskets of strawberries, one of cucumbers, a flat of green onions, and now some watermelon, squash, and cantaloupe. Everything is THRIVING and it is incredibly easy to maintain. I also have a couple of grape vines I need to plant and a couple of blueberry bushes coming in the mail soon. I'd like to get some fruit trees, as well, but that might not happen until next year. I'll take a picture of it in the next day or so and show you how well everything is growing. It's been a lot of fun for me and the kids. They even ate green onions on their tacos this evening! They never have enjoyed onions! But there is something cool about watching it grow and it makes you want to eat it. I'm betting that they will be eating lots of good stuff this summer.
4. Jared only has a few days left of school and not a moment too soon. He has been not doing so hot in school! Misbehaving & not completing his work has been his trademark the past couple of weeks. I'm soooo ready for this school year to END. I have no idea what exactly is going on but we have got him caught up on his work and his behavior has improved after he admitted a kid was teasing him and had him moved from said child. Aren't kids hateful?
Well, that is about all for me tonight. I promise I will write more later. There is too much to try and fit in one post. Have a great Memorial Day!
