Good evening....

I guess that my cold that I came down with a few weeks ago has finally won.  I thought I had it whooped, but I guess I didn't.  We left the kids with the neighbor today and went to lay away their Christmas gifts.  I had taken some ibuprofen before we left because my head was hurting a little bit.  We got to Subway to eat lunch and I noticed when I chewed, it hurt very badly under my right eye.  Rich noticed that my right eye was really red.

We went on to do our shopping and I began shivering.  My the pain under my eye and beside my nose was excrutiating.  I could not stand it!  I got dizzy, weak, and I thought something really terrible was happening to me.  Rich took me to the blood pressure machine and my blood pressure was elevated and my pulse was sky high.  He gave me a prescription dose of motrin and we continued to shop.

You would think that a prescription dose of motrin would get rid of the pain, but it didn't.  On our way home, I told him that I needed to see a doctor.  I walked into our local physician's office, but they had no openings.  I started bawling and crying and had Rich take me on home.   I was so miserable I couldn't stand it.

After about an hour, Rich insisted that I get up and he take me to the urgent care.  I'm sure glad he did, or I would have been in the ER this evening.  I got there and told them to just please help me.  They took me straight back and took my temperature.  It was 101.7 (two hours AFTER taking Rx motrin!).  The doctor came in and determined that it was a severe sinus infection and gave me a prescription for antibiotics.  They also gave me a big old shot in my hiney of steroids to reduce the inflammation!  Yikes!  I didn't even care, though, I was so sick.

My fever has finally broken and I feel better than I did, but certainly not well.  I am not able to sleep, so I thought I would write in my journal.  My mom will come down tomorrow to help me if I am not well enough, since Rich has to work.   Thank God for Mom!
