Ohhhh...it is so late I cannot believe I am even still awake! Good grief.
I loaded up the kids today and took them to visit Rich's grandmother across town. My mother & father-in-law were there spending the weekend with her, so we got to have a little visit. It was very nice and I was glad to get to talk with them for a bit.
On the way home, we stopped off at the store to pick up some tights, socks, & winter dress shoes for Klara. She has many nice dresses for church, but was lacking in these other important departments. We haven't been able to go to church, due to illness, for the past few weeks. It was still warm then, so I hadn't thought about these little incidentals.
I met an interesting man in the little girl's shoe department. He came busting around the corner and just started talking my ears off. I'm not sure if he was "for real" or was just crazy! He had a pretty bad speech impairment, but that didn't stop him from going on and on and on. He started out by telling me that he had four jobs...that he flew the helicopter for the local HealthNet, worked as an EMT for the county, volunteered for a fire department, and on and on and on. For those of you who don't know, my husband is a paramedic and nurse and knows many of the people he would be working with. I am going to ask Rich about this in the morning.
He said he had a little girl and offered to show me a picture...however his picture wasn't in his wallet. He then got on his cell phone and called this supposed-child and started having a conversation that I got the feeling was to make me believe he had a little girl. I don't believe it was real, I don't know why...I just don't. He then told me that he had bought a pet monkey for his little girl in NC and proceeded to show me his tattoos on his back of Taz & a monkey! WEIRD MAN!
I was trying to get Klara to hurry up and try on the shoes so I could get the heck out of dodge. I just got bad vibes from this guy. Maybe I am paranoid? I don't know...but he was a strange bird.
I have begun a crusade to find a locally-owned dairy cow to get milk from after buying another half gallon of this organic milk. I still feel very strongly about the change, but I am going to have to figure out a way to get it cheaper. I might have to buy a cow and have it boarded somewhere...hehehe...maybe the horse farm down the road? I doubt they would like that...but who knows? I might ask them! It used to be a dairy farm, anyway, so it could work.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I finally was able to buy the coveted Häagen-Dazs Caramel Cone Icecream (made from inorganic milk, I am sure...but I do not care!). It came highly recommended by Donna at Quiet Reverie and I was determined to try it as soon as it reached WV. I was excited to see it and bought a couple of containers for good measure. Oh man....it was the bomb! I will have to not buy this in the future or I will gain an unGodly amount of weight...and we don't want that! Kudos to Donna for finding this great flavor! Yuuuuummmmyyyy!
Ok, I seriously have to get to bed. I cannot believe that I have to get up soon! More later!
