I would like to wish each and every one of you a wonderful New Year! I will be celebrating with my children today and will probably let my six year old stay up until midnight (if he takes a little nap). My husband, Rich, must work a 24 hour shift today and will be home tomorrow morning for church. Oh well...this has happened before and will happen again. No big deal.
We had Will's little birthday extravaganza a couple of days ago. I will write all about it after I get the pictures developed in the next couple of days. Yeah...I forgot my digital camera and had to use a fun saver....ick. Oh well, at least I will have pictures.
Digital cameras have really spoiled me! I love the instant gratification of seeing the pictures right away and having them in hand quickly if I want them. I like being able to upload my pictures and have them an hour later when I go shopping and not have to wait. This so-called "fun saver" thing is not fun at all. One thing about it, though, it surely will be a surprise! You never know how the pictures are going to turn out. But they shouldn't call those cameras "fun savers." No...they should call them something like "butt savers" since it really is saving your butt when your spouse finds out you forgot the camera. Or, perhaps "money savers" since you will probably never remember to get the actual photos developed anyway.
I'll get them developed....I really will.
I've been practicing the fine art of writing snail mail letters to Rich's grandma lately. She cannot hear well and we can no longer converse by phone. And, even though she is only 20 minutes away, we can't go visit her daily either. So I have started writing her letters and including pictures of the kids, etc. Usually about twice a week. Rich's aunt, who cares for her, says she absolutely has loved it. Maybe I will stick a fun saver birthday picture in her next letter, huh? I bought some special pretty paper, even, just for her letters. It would suck not to be able to talk on the phone anymore.
Well I think I am going to enjoy the last part of naptime with my book. I will write more later! Happy New Year!
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!..............Old Irish Blessing
