We had an aquarium fatality. But, it's not what you would imagine. It was a frog industrial accident! I went to feed the frogs a day or so ago and found only one. Upon closer examination, I saw that the second frog was sticking out of the bottom of the filter, stuck in the grates. I turned the filter off quickly and tried to rescue him, but he had already drowned. The kids handled it ok...but I felt really bad. Poor thing.
All three fish are still alive and kicking. I'm still giving them ich medicine and they seemed like they were doing better until the past day or so. They are rather inactive now, so I don't know what's left to do with them. I'm getting sick of the whole aquarium situation, that's for sure. Gary the snail is still creeping around in circles in his casserole dish under a desk lamp to keep him warm. I think I should have just got an aquarium full of snails and frogs. That would have been more fun and less work, I think.
I took a pregnancy test yesterday because I have been nauseated every single day for over a week and a half. I've been tired. I *know* it sounds insane, but I thought *maybe* I could still be pregnant? Even though I had my blood tested just a week and a half ago and was told all the pregnancy hormone was gone. It makes no sense, so I took another one. I'd like to say it was positive, but I don't think it was. My mind plays tricks on me and my eyes and I could swear that there was a faint line there, but I don't think so. I think it's just me and my mind. If there is a line there it is so faint that a normal person couldn't see it. *sigh* Oh well...
My mother-in-law called me yesterday and asked me if I would go up to Cleveland with her to pick up a car she is buying from her sister and help her get it back down here. Her sister lives in Michigan, so we would be meeting them half way. It sounds like fun...she told me to check all avenues (bus, airlines, etc) to see what the best way to do it would be. What I discovered was craziness!
To fly from Charleston, WV to Cleveland, OH is nearly $400. However....to fly from Charleston, WV to New York City, with a layover in Cleveland was only $104! But they say that it's against the rules to just get off at your layover and not get back on the plane. I'm not exactly sure what they would or could do to you, realistically, but it's against the rules. So I explored another option....multicity one-way. I've never heard of such a thing, but apparently you can get a one way ticket and you can say, "ok I want to fly to this city this day, then this city the next day" or whatever and it's one price. Are you sitting down? We could fly out of Charleston, WV one day and go to Houston, TX, then the NEXT DAY fly to Cleveland from Houston and it would only be $148. What sense does this make? So I am seriously entertaining the idea (if my mother-in-law goes along with it) of leaving the day before and flying somewhere cool, spend the day there and the evening, spend the night and get up the next day and fly to Cleveland. I mean, why not? Sounds like fun! Me thinks this is the way to fly if you are going to do it and have a way to get it done. It would almost be worth it to fly on a vacation like this and fly back home to a different airport & have someone pick you up and drive you home. Nuts!
My house is a mess and I need to scratch my butt and get happy & get to work. I just haven't had the desire to do much of anything the past few days. I feel fine, though, so it'll be ok. I'll write more later...
