I am doing better now & the physical problems that go along with a miscarriage are starting to let up and go away. Mentally, I still have my moments, but it is getting better. Maria & Stace (cousin & sister-in-law) came and sat with me the day before the miscarriage. What lifesavers...I was in so much pain that day that I couldn't function so well. My mother-in-law came and stayed with me Thursday night through Saturday morning. At first, I didn't think I would need anyone to stay with me while Rich was at work after all of this happened. Boy, was I wrong!
I went to Walmart with my mother-in-law and got dizzy reaching for something and about hit the floor. She made me sit on a bench and recuperate. While sitting there, I started crying! It was not such a good day. After we went home, I just slept, mostly. I was just so tired...I think from the near week of doing nothing but laying around.
We did decide to call the baby "Quinn," as it is a unisex name that means "fifth." Quinn was our fifth pregnancy so it seemed to make sense. We buried little Quinn in a tiny wooden box wrapped in a miniature baby quilt that I made for him. We have a little baby angel statue on top of his grave & a beautiful solar light beside it. I do believe that this helped us, in the long run, to have some closure.
While my mother-in-law was here, Will spiked a fever and puked all over her while she was rocking him. Heh...my luck sucks doesn't it? He ran the fever that night and all the next day, but Sunday morning he was fine again. So far everyone else seems ok (SO FAR).
On a happier note, yesterday was Jared's 7th birthday. I will do a separate journal entry about that later, but it was a nice change of pace. He got a small fish aquarium and three goldfish, an algae eater, & a snail. Today we are going to get a couple of frogs. He named the three goldfish "Nemo," "Goldie," & "Bill." The snail's name is "Gary," obviously, and the algae eater's name is "Sucker." I can't wait to find out what he names the frogs, hahaha.
I made Jared a strawberry icecream cake and we took him to Shoney's for his birthday dinner. It all ran a bit late, but we had a good time. I was EXHAUSTED afterwards and fell asleep abruptly on the couch. But I feel ok today. I had to use the FUNSAVER again to take pictures as my new memory stick was not compatible with my dinosaur digital camera. Grrr....I'm about to get a new digital camera! So, when all those are developed I'll post them.
So I'm trying to get some housework done today...minor stuff like a load of laundry and some dishes. Just to stay afloat, you know? I want to thank everyone who kept up with this whole saga and prayed for me and the baby. I appreciate your kindness and now....back to your regularly scheduled programming. :-)
